Obituary of Donald E. Knoll, Sr.

Donald E. Knoll Sr, 87 years, of Atco NJ, passed away on April 26, 2023. Son of the Late William C. and Pearl (née Fletcher) Knoll. Beloved husband of the late Joan A. Knoll (née Pologruto). Loving father of Gini (the late Tim) Hunt, Donald E. (Louise) Knoll, Jr., Mike (Doreen) Knoll, Jack (Carol) Knoll, Vicki (John) Pomponio and Chris (Kathy) Knoll. Cherished grandfather of Melissa (Carleo) Naluan, Daniel (Ashley) Knoll, Teri (John) Willard, Meaghan Knoll, Laura (Kenny) Romano, Danielle (Nick) Goetschius, John Pomponio, Brianna Pomponio and Jacquelyn Knoll and great grandfather of 13.

Don was born and raised in Atco NJ. He worked for over 35 years with Owens Corning Fiberglass before retiring in 1993, he also hauled boats and pre-cast concrete part-time. Throughout the years Don devoted a large amount of time to the community as a member of the Atco Volunteer Fire Company and was a Fire Warden for the NJ Forest Fire Service. Family and friends can remember NJ Forest Fire trucks C-20 and C-11 parked in the driveway always ready with the plow.

He also served with his wife on the Waterford Township Historical Society for many years. Don was a long-time member of the Alpha Gun Club and enjoyed spending time in the woods with his sons and friends hunting. He enjoyed Philly sports but his favorite sport was NASCAR, specifically a fan of Dale Earnhardt. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday May 5, 2023 from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at the COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 W. WHITE HORSE PIKE, BERLIN NJ 08009.
