Obituary of Michael Kelly Coates, Jr.

Michael K. Coates, Jr., 57 years, of West Berlin NJ, formerly of Oaklyn, passed away on January 22, 2023. Beloved son of Lois N. (Thomas) Marshall (née Davis). Loving father of Stephanie (Chris) Cellinesi and Michael K. Coates. Dear brother of Kevin Coates, Jennifer (Eugene) Edwards, Stacey Juliano, Patrick (Laurie) Juliano, and the late Kenneth Coates. Cherished grandfather of Brody, Micaela, and Gaetano. Also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Michael "Big Mike" was a larger-than-life kind of guy, with a big booming voice and an infectious sense of humor. People always knew when Mike arrived anywhere. He loved spending time with his family and always had his way of showing how much he cared. He had a knack for making you feel special and loved just by being around him, whether it was a big bear hug, a simple "Love ya!", or something he picked up because it made him think of you. 

He had a passion for the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, and Harleys. He loved his dog Snick (RIP), his fishpond, and his plants. He proudly served in the United States Army's prestigious 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He was a lifelong avid fan of the Philadelphia E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles!  GO BIRDS! 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at the COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 W. WHITE HORSE PIKE, BERLIN NJ 08009. Memorial service 12:00PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, donations to Tunnels to Towers, 2361 Hyland Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 would be appreciated.
