Obituary of Rita M. Yaksta-Lange
Rita M. Yaksta-Lange, 96 years, of Berlin, passed away on December 15, 2021. Daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie (née Jones) Lyons. Predeceased by the love of her life, Edward Yaksta, Sr. Loving mother of Mary Lou Mauri (Wayne), Edward Yaksta, Jr. (Vicki), and Robert Yaksta (Carol). Dear sister of Patricia Miller (the late Joseph), Eileen Van Dyke (the late Lou) and the late Joseph Lyons, Jr. and Joan Grimmie. Cherished grandmother of Michele Allen (Michael), Wayne Mauri, Jr. (Susan), Brian Mauri (Kate-linn Salyers), Heather Grippi (Gene), Edward Yaksta, III, Robert Yaksta, Jr. (Sarah), and Bryan Yaksta and great grandmother of Gabriela, Michael, Lauren, Katelyn, Madaline and Emilly. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rita was a Red Cross nurse aide in WWII and volunteered many years ago at the Berlin Ambulance Corp, now known as the Berlin Inter-Community Ambulance Association. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Marie Fleche Memorial Library in Berlin as well. For 8 years she also volunteered for West Jersey Hospital (now Virtua) in Berlin where she also worked until her retirement in 2012. She loved to sing and did so for many church choirs including St. Simon Stock Parish.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, December 21st from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the St. Simon Stock Parish Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 178 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin NJ 08009. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00AM. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin NJ.
