Obituary of Robert J Jacobs

Robert Joseph Jacobs died peacefully at home on September 24, 2021 in Sicklerville, NJ. He was 80 years of age.

 

Robert was born on August 11,1941 in Camden, NJ to his parents, Constance and Joseph Jacobs. He graduated from Camden Catholic High School in Camden, NJ in 1959 where he was a varsity athlete in football, basketball and baseball. A trained draftsman, he began his career at RCA in Camden, but his interests and intellectual curiosity eventually led him to a long and rewarding career in data processing and analysis for a number of firms. In 1962, Bob married his wife Marianne (née Szczepankiewicz), who predeceased him in 2018 after enjoying a happy and loving 56-year marriage.

 

Bob was involved with a number of civic activities in Winslow Township and was a highly engaged founding member of the St. John Neumann R.C. church in Sicklerville where he participated on various parish committees.

 

Bob was the devoted father of Robert Jacobs, Jr. (Rosanne) of South Amboy, NJ; Michael Jacobs (Kimberly) of Berlin, NJ; Joseph Jacobs of Chesilhurst, NJ and Kathleen Missigman, also of Berlin. Dear brother of Christina Jacobs and Joseph Jacobs (Kay). Proud grandfather of Justine, Rylee, David and Amanda and a loving uncle to many nieces, nephews and their children.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday morning, September 28, 10AM to 11AM at the St. Simon Stock Parish, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 178 White Horse Pike, Berlin NJ 08009. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00AM. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing, NJ.
